CEDARVILLE, Ohio –
Three members of the Ursuline College volleyball program were honored by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference when awards were handed out Thursday (Nov. 13) during the conference's postseason tournament.

Sophomore middle blocker Emily Adkinson and senior setter Molly Hilfinger were named to the seven-player first team and junior outside Abbie Fabo earned a spot on the second team.

Joining Adkinson and Hilfinger on the first team were Kentucky Wesleyan College senior outside hitter Summer Alford, Trevecca University sophomore outside hitter Katelyn Atkinson, Ohio Valley University sophomore outside hitter Alyx Henry and a pair from Cedarville University: junior middle blocker Tori Thompson and senior outside hitter Hannah Wagner.

Henry was named the G-MAC Player of the Year and her head coach Paul Jacoby was tagged as the Coach of the Year. Cedarville's Krissy Pratt was selected as the conference Freshman of the Year.

Adkinson led the G-MAC in hitting percentage (.379) after recording 217 kills and just 50 errors in 441 total attacks. That production placed her 19th in all of Division II as of the latest statistical rankings. She reached double figures in kills 10 times and set a new career-high with 17 kills at Ohio Valley on Sep. 27. Adkinson led the team with 19 solo blocks and her 56 total stuffs were second on the club behind junior Elise Harcek.

In all but one match (Sep. 30 at Tiffin University), she handed out 20+ assists.

Fabo, who only played in seven matches in 2013 because of injury, rebounded in a big way. She led UC and ranked seventh in the conference in both kills (2.65 per set) and points (3.21 per set). Fabo was credited with nine double-doubles, the second most on the team. She set new single match career-highs with 19 kills (against Ohio Valley on Oct. 10) and 24 digs (at Carlow University on Oct. 7).
