PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Ursuline College head soccer coach Jason Kubbins announced the signing of nine new additions to his program on Friday (July 25) morning.
Olivia Bennett (Norton, Ohio/Norton),
Morgan Bowman (Grafton, Ohio/Midview),
Steph Chlad (Eastlake, Ohio/North),
Taylor Dackin (Lima, Ohio/Bath/Bowling Green),
Bryana Flak (Youngstown, Ohio/Boardman),
Kylie Haslage (Lorain, Ohio/Amherst Steele),
Emily Justus (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson),
Tatiana Rugama (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) and
Rachel Strahorn (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade Julienne) will join an Arrow program that finished last season with a record of 12-8-1 and advanced to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference title match for the second consecutive year.

Bennett, who will play in the back at UC, earned four varsity letters at Norton High School and was an All-Portage Trail Conference (PTC) honorable mention pick in 2012 before earning first team all-conference accolades last year as a senior. Additionally, she was tabbed as a second team all-district performer and selected to the Greater Akron Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Senior Spotlight Game in 2013.
Off the pitch, Bennett was a PTC Scholar-Athlete all four years. The winner of Norton's 2013 Miss Defense Award intends to major in chemistry at Ursuline College.

Bowman, a midfielder and forward, played her prep soccer for Emily Ballantine at Midview High School. She made a big contribution early in her career and was named the team's Most Valuable Player as a sophomore in 2011, the same year she earned All-Lorain County Conference honorable mention status.

In both 2012 and 2013, Bowman was named the Most Valuable Player of the Adidas Showcase Game.

She intends to major in art therapy at Ursuline College.

Chlad played as both a forward and a midfielder at Eastlake North High School and worked as a forward and defender for her club team, the Cleveland Kickers. She played on her school's varsity team for three seasons and was a three-time team captain.
In each of her first two seasons for the Rangers, she was named the team's Most Valuable Player and a first team All-Premier Athletic Conference pick. Additionally, she was a second team All-Greater Cleveland choice as a freshman and a sophomore.
She doubled as a star on North's basketball team and got it done in the classroom, earning National Honor Society status. She intends to major in nursing at Ursuline College.

Dackin, a midfielder, is a transfer from Bowling Green State University where she redshirted during the 2013 season. She attended BGSU after a standout career at Lima's Bath High School. In her first three seasons on the varsity team, she had 31 goals and 16 assists before sitting out her senior season due to injury.
Her high school team went 5-10-3 during her freshman season but turned the ship around and finished 23-10-6 over the next two years, including a 12-4-4 campaign in Dackin's junior season when she scored 15 goals and handed out 10 assists.
A tremendous athlete, Dackin also competed in basketball and track in high school and she was the starting point guard on the 2011-12 Bath basketball team that reached the state semifinals.
Dackin, who is a member of the National Honor Society, intends to major in business.

Flak was a standout starting defender at Boardman High School in Youngstown, Ohio. She played club soccer for Soccer Vision Academy under the direction of head coach Anthony James.
After an ACL injury in her junior year, she was named a team captain in 2013 and responded with a terrific senior season. Flak was awarded first team all-district and second team All-Federal League honors in 2013 in addition to winning multiple team awards such as the Most Aggressive Player and the Varsity Defense Award.
Flak will study nursing at Ursuline College.

Haslage comes to UC from Amherst Steele High School and the Cleveland United Soccer Club where she patrolled the back line.
She earned four varsity letters while playing for head coach Jim Fossie at Steele and was twice recognized with the team's Defensive Award. A captain during her days in Amherst, Haslage was a two-time All-Greater Cleveland honorable mention pick and she also earned honorable mention status in Lorain County and the Southwestern Conference.
Haslage will study business at Ursuline College.

Justus, a midfielder, was a four-year letter winner at Jackson High School and played her club soccer for the Cleveland Football Club, Cleveland Kickers and the Internationals. As a senior at Jackson, Justus earned All-Stark County honorable mention status and was selected to the Greater Akron Scholastic Soccer Coaches All-Star Game.
While playing for head coach Frank Gagliardi at Jackson, Justus was part of a program that routinely competed for district and regional titles. At the club level, she won three Ohio North State Cup Championships (2009–11) with the Internationals in addition to participating in a pair of Midwest Region 2 championships (2010 and 2011).
Off the pitch, Justus carried a 4.2 GPA was inducted into the National Honor Society in 2013 as well as being a four-time recipient of the Jackson Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. She plans to study biology as a pre-med student. Â Â Â Â Â

Rugama, a midfielder/defender, has 13 years of soccer experience on her
résumé.She has played for premier clubs such as the Albion Soccer Club, Legends Soccer Club, the San Diego Surf, Arsenal Soccer Club and the Carlsbad Wave. During that time, she played on teams that reached two Final Fours in the National Cup.
At the high school level, Rugama was a two-time recipient of her team's Most Valuable Player award. She has been recognized as a leader and has served as a captain for three seasons for various teams.
At Ursuline College, Rugama will study biology.

Strahorn, a standout defender at Chaminade Julienne High School, played her club soccer for Butler United. She was a first team Greater Catholic League and All-Dayton Area pick as both a junior and a senior.
Additionally, she was tabbed as her high school team's Defensive Player of the Year during her days as an Eagle and was recognized as the Player of the Week by the
Dayton Daily News.
A Scholar-Athlete Award winner, Strahorn will major in nursing at Ursuline College.
